- I am the owner of this key, but it looks like it has been stolen!
Your key file has been blocked when we discovered that it was used by other people and not just by its rightful owner. Typically this means that the key file was found on "pirate" sites, where it was available to everyone free of charge or for a small fee.
Most likely, someone without your knowledge gained access to your computer, the key could also be "borrowed" by a person preforming maintenance tasks on your computer (repair, configure Internet connection, install applications).
We suggest that you contact the company from which you have purchased a license and request of them to issue you a new key and lock the old one. If you purchased a Dr.Web box, submit a request to our Technical support service to restore your license.
- A friend lended my the key file.
- I copied the key file from my office computer.
- A computer aid specialist installed the software on my computer. He never told me that I didn't own the license.
- I bought the anti-virus on a CD containing lots of other programs. The sales person assured me that it would work.
- I downloaded a crack from the Internet.
- I bought a scratch card without a new computer (received the card as a gift).
Whatever the reason,
you use a key file that doesn't belong to you.
This is a violation of the license agreement regarding the use of Dr.Web software, Russian law and international copyright protection legislation.
A key is blocked (i.e, it is no longer accepted by Dr.Web), if it is determined that someone else other than the rightful owner is using the file.
A key is blocked in the following cases:
- Your key file has been found available to the public on the Internet.
- You are using a key file obtained through fraudulent operations with electronic license payment systems.
- The key file is used on the number of computers exceeding the number specified in the key.
Doctor Web offers you to purchase a commercial license and become a rightful Dr.Web user.
